Abstract

ABSTRACT

While CSR initiatives can include sustainability efforts, such as environmental protection measures, they also encompass a broader range of social and ethical responsibilities. While being related CSR and sustainability, they represent distinct concepts. CSR typically encompasses a broader range of social and ethical responsibilities beyond environmental concerns, including community engagement and ethical labor practices. it might be beneficial to refine the focus to specifically address CSR initiatives, ensuring clarity in delineating the scope of the research.

Utilizing a case study, the research analyses the various CSR initiatives and programs implemented by the oil companies to promote environmental protection, social responsibility, and economic sustainability. The findings indicate that the selected oil

companies have implemented a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental protection and sustainability. The research also examines the role of digital and social media as a communication tool for promoting and publicizing the oil companies' CSR efforts. The oil companies have effectively utilized digital and social media platforms to disseminate information about their CSR initiatives, engage with stakeholders, and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability. Overall, this research underscores the critical role of CSR in driving sustainable development within the UAE’s energy sector. This research offers valuable insights into the CSR initiatives of major oil companies in the UAE and provides implications for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and other organizations seeking to enhance their sustainability efforts.
